Okaturua
Shadowed by the majestic Etjo mountain range, the 10 000 ha Okaturua is located on the East-West watershed, in the central part of Namibia. The landscape varies from mountainous terrain in the West, to the wide open Omaheke plains in the East. The non-perennial Omaruru and Omuramba Omatako rivers slowly wind their way through this diverse landscape.
The combination of dry river beds, with their Acacia and Anna tree forest, mountainous terrain and open plains, provides an abundance of free range African plains game.
Kudu wander down from the Etjo mountains to feed on the seed pods in the river beds, while Red Hartebeest, Oryx (Gemsbuck), Wildebeest, Springbok and Blesbok roam the open plains. Warthogs stroll around and wallow in the ample collection of natural water holes. Hunting this diverse area is both challenging and very rewarding.
